Long Ly started his soccer journey by kicking cans in the dirt fields of a refugee camp with his friends. When he was fortunate enough to find a home in France, he was recruited to play club soccer until he moved to the United States. Throughout several re-locations across the U.S., he continued pursuing his passion for the game by seeking participation in adult soccer leagues. As a father to young boys, he became a coach to give back to the new generation of soccer players. Long started his official coaching experience with Hoosier FC, Indiana. He coached two teams, aged 4-6, for several years. After moving to Kentucky, he was hired to coach with Commonwealth Soccer Club (CSC). As a CSC coach, he was responsible for developing new players to embrace the game and prepare them for the next level.
Long believes that achievement comes with hard work, discipline, and a lot of dedication but especially PASSION for the game.
