Last weekend the friends and family of Ben Riddle celebrated his life and mourned his death after an 8 1/2 year battle with cancer.

Ben was born in 1967 in Downey, CA.  He was employed by McDonnell Douglas, Long Beach and worked alongside his dad for a few years.  He then worked for AeroJet and then Boeing Huntington Beach in 1997, where he spent the rest of his career.  Ben received his Bachelor's degree in Business Management from the University of Phoenix in 2007.  He later furthered his education and received his MBA in 2009 from the same university.

Ben brought an AYSO girls team to NHB in the 2012-2013 season where he coached the team from U15-U19.  Three of his daughters played soccer at NHB - Brooke, Amber and Alexa.  Ben coached Amber and Brooke and Alexa played for Francisco Flores.  Alexa was a recipient of the George and June Mitton Scholarship when she graduated from high school in 2018.  NHB was fortunate to have Ben as a part of our outstanding coaching staff.

He leaves behind his wife Jerri and children Breanna, Autumn, Brooke, Amber, Alexa and Carson.

Remember Me

By Margaret Mead

To the living, I am gone,
To the sorrowful, I will never return,
To the angry, I was cheated,
But to the happy, I am at peace,
And to the faithful, I have never left.

I cannot speak, but I can listen.
I cannot be seen, but I can be heard.
So as you stand upon a shore gazing at a beautiful sea,
As you look upon a flower and admire its simplicity,
Remember me.

Remember me in your heart:
Your thoughts, and your memories,
Of the times we loved,
The times we cried,
The times we fought,
The times we laughed.
For if you always think of me, I will never have gone.
