NHB Boys 2006 participated in the 2017 Pateadores Junior Cup this weekend and went undefeated all four matches. On Saturday, they played a good passing game dominating Laguna United FC in match #1 pulling off a 2-1 victory and in match #2 against Pateadores Irvine, they once again showed great possession in the midfield and the forwards putting the goals away to defeat the Pats 4-2. Sunday in match #3, NHB played Long Beach Red in a tight match all game, going scoreless until the last 15 seconds of the game when Jack Gericitano took the corner kick, defense blocked it and Jack passed to Kade Palombo who rocketed the ball in the net for the winning goal, final score 1-0. Super exciting game and great win for NHB Black.

Now onto the Championship match on Sunday at J Serra HS where NHB Black once again played LB Red, scoring early and the boys were pumped. Goalkeeper Mason Conant had multiple saves in the championship match and the defensive line including Center Back Sammy Johnson worked hard cutting off the lane of the LB Red Striker. The Curiel twins put a couple goals in the net by playing excellent soccer on top, showing great possession, all the while our midfielders Brayden Ackerman and Nathan Phan dishing off passes to right wing Kade Palombo.  Congratulations to Kade for scoring a hat trick in the Championship match. Final score 5-2 and NHB Black took home the CHAMPIONSHIP medal! Congrats to NHB Boys 2006, you are ready for State Cup 2017
