NHB College Workshop
GU17 Player Leigha Williams Talks About the NHB College Workshop
The college workshop was great because I learned so many things.
Within that night I learned how to make a player profile and how to
write a formal email to college coaches. Monica Gerardo, GU17
Assistant Coach and College/Player Liaison gave us an example of both
and facilitated us through each type of communication. During the
night we developed our own player profiles and the formal way to
email. Monica Gerardo, Shereen Walters (NHB President), and Chris Volk
(Director of Coaching) also helped by looking over our shoulders,
giving us advice, sharing suggestions, and proof reading our profiles
and emails. I’m so glad that I got the chance to get that advice from
two amazing college coaches, Chris Volk (UCI) and Monica Gerardo
(Whitter College), both knew what I needed to do to get noticed and
the correct way to communicate,. I feel like this opportunity will
help me in the future when contacting college coaches. The college
