Fernando Perez turned in a performance on Wednesday night that is rarely seen in boys soccer.
He scored five – that’s right FIVE – goals in the second half to lead host Valencia to a 5-2 Empire League victory against Western.
That’s the best single game performance by a player this season. Nathan Darosa from Kennedy scored four goals for the Fighting Irish during a 7-0 victory against Oxford Academy.
Perez, who was the MVP of the Varsity 2 division at the North Orange County Classic last month, has scored 22 goals this season which puts him three goals in front of Conner Bevans of Servite for the county lead in goal scoring
Bevans scored one for the Friars on Wednesday, giving him 19 this season
