The June Mitton Memorial Scholarship Award was voted on by the Board Members of NHB and they made a great choice in awarding it to Kristi Tanaka.
Kristi played for NHB for five years and was coached by her dad Sam Tanaka during her stay with the club. Besides losing Kristi, the club will also be without the services of Sam. We wish Sam the best wherever he coaches.

The awards are given to NHB players who have been with the club at least three years, and exemplify the spirit of excellence, commitment and scholarship that NHB strives to promote in all of its players.

To commemorate June's involvement with the club and its members, NHBFC created the June Mitton Memorial Award. The recipient of the annual award, in George Mitton's words, will be "a dependable person" boy or girl on the senior team, not necessarily the best player, but someone planning to go to college."
